In this month’s edition of Employee Spotlights, we introduce Franky Proto, our Office Manager at LP Energy Associates. We recently sat down with her to learn more about her role and what she enjoys in her free time.
🗨️ When did you join LP Energy, and how are you getting on so far?
“I joined LP Energy Associates in September 2023, shortly after moving from London. The past two years have been fantastic, learning about a new industry and working with such an amazing group of people has been a truly rewarding experience.”
🗨️ What inspired you to join LP Energy?
“My partner and Lee have been friends for a while, which is how I first learned about the position. I was intrigued by the opportunity to explore the energy industry and to use my skills to streamline processes and support the day-to-day management of the business.”
🗨️ What’s the most exciting challenge you have tackled in your role so far?
“Before joining LP Energy, I was a primary school teacher in London, so I was very used to organising schedules for myself, colleagues, and lots of children. When I arrived at LP Energy, there were already great systems in place, but I wanted to introduce something the whole team could use to track our jobs from start to finish – especially since we’re all involved at different stages of each project. With Lee’s input, I was able to implement a new CRM system that helps the team monitor, schedule, and organise workloads, and it works pretty well!
🗨️ What motivates you to keep pushing forward professionally?
“Ultimately, the success of the company is my biggest motivation. Lee has built a great team and created a comfortable, collaborative work environment for all of us. The opportunity to work on new projects and engage in CPD means we are constantly learning, improving, and staying engaged in our work.”
🗨️ What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?
“Nothing lasts forever.’ It’s more of a saying than advice, but my dad repeats it constantly. It’s a continual reminder to enjoy things while they last and to never take anything for granted. It’s also a comfort to know that when times are tough, those moments will eventually pass too.”
🗨️ What hobby or activity always helps you recharge outside of work?
“Cooking or reading, sometimes even reading about cooking, helps me wind down. I love experimenting with food, exploring new recipes and techniques, and ultimately cooking for friends and family.”
🗨️ What’s a personal goal or adventure you’re planning for the next year?
“I want to be outside more next year. More hikes, more mountains, more exploring of our beautiful English countryside.”
🗨️ If you could have dinner with any historical or famous figure, who would it be?
“The late Peter Steele, who was the lead vocalist and bassist of Type O Negative. I’d love to cook for us while we talked about life and music.”
🗨️ If you could instantly master a new language, which one would it be and why?
“Italian, so I could speak confidently with my family in Italy and surprise my grandparents with my newfound fluency. I understand enough to get by, but I’ve always struggled with conversational Italian.”
🗨️ If you could watch a film again for the first time, what would it be and why?
“Midsommar (2019) has become my favourite horror film. It’s full of suspense, shock, and intrigue, and Florence Pugh gives a brilliant performance.”
